Test whether:

- every cause of action is legally recognisable and sufficiently pleaded;
- every necessary element has supporting material facts;
- allegations are supported by identifiable instructions or documents;
- particulars are adequate;
- causes of action, remedies and prayer are internally consistent;
- limitation, jurisdiction, standing and conditions precedent are addressed;
- evidence, argument, scandalous matter, ambiguity, prolixity or bare legal conclusions should be removed;
- the pleading is vulnerable to striking out, particulars, amendment or evidential objection.

Produce: (a) a defect table by paragraph; (b) proposed amendments; and (c) a clean revised pleading. Do not strengthen the pleading by inventing facts.
